Recycled Hardwood Hanging Votive Candle Holder

I made this candle holder from some recycled hardwood that was in the garbage pile of a local cabinet shop. All of the glass votive holder are actually hanging and don't touch the surface that the holder is sitting on.

Concrete top corner table

I decided to make a nice corner table using a custom cast triangular concrete top with a simple pine base constructed from a recycled/reclaimed shipping crate. The concrete top has a nice custom texture. This table stands 32" tall and the traingle sides are ~ 26" long. The concrete top has several coats of high quality sealer and the base has mulitple layers of clear coat. Notice how nicely it fits into the corner.

Chipped edge mirror with simple recycled pine frame

I decided that I wanted to experiment witth making a chipped edge mirror. This makes a very nice effect around the edges of the mirror. I went through quite a few of mirrors to perfect this but now that I've made some special tooling its a snap to repeat. I wanted to give this mirror a nice and simple frame so it didn't detract from the cool effects of the mirror. I made the frame from some old pine boards that were lying around my barn.

Recycled pine "Twisted" shelf

Here's another set of Twisted shelves that I made out of some pine boards that were part of a shipping box. The shelves are 4 ft high by 2 ft wide and roughly 1 ft at the deepest. The edges of these shelves have been rounded and ground down for nice visual appeal.

Concrete "Barn wood" looking bench top with cedar base

Here's a new bench design that uses a special mold to make the concrete top look like aged barn wood. I also dyed the concrete brown and inset some old rusted nails for added realistic effect. The base is made out of cedar with a darker stain that has been stressed for aged effect. The concrete top has multiple coats of indoor/outdoor concrete sealer and the cedar base is coated with sun/moisture resistant clear coat.

Here's another bench that I've made by dying the concrete a nice red / terra cotta color. I also recycled some black slate tiles left over from home projects into the piece by inlaying them into the top. The cedar base has added arch accents made from recycled cedar decking. The concrete top has been sealed with indoor/outdoor concrete sealer and the cedar base has several layers of sun/moisture resistant clear coat.

I decided to start making things with concrete as a new medium to try. Here's the first concrete top bench that I made. It is dyed charcoal gray and has hand chipped / cracked travertine tile accents that one of my friends was going to throw away. The rugged base is made out of cedar and has multiple layers of UV/ moisture resistant clear coat. The 4" x 4" legs have a plastic furniture slide on the bottom to further
protect them from moisture
and ease in moving around.

Knotty Pine Curvy Mirror

I found some old dry 2" x 6" s in my barn that had a lot of character and I decided to make them into a mirror frame. This frame is approximately 3ft x 4ft so this is a good sized mirror. The wood had been sanded and ground down to show the natural colors and knots.
The mirror for this pieces was picked up in a second hand shop and had it's own interesting history. It was made in 1959, back east by the Galax Mirror company.

Pine wood "Twisty Shelves"

These unique shelves are made from some 1" x 12" pine boards that were sitting in the barn of our small farm when we bought it. These shelves will sit flat against your wall but give the illusion of being all twisted.
